Edition #46 Notes

Designed with Rene Clairin, an illustrator in NYC whose method of sketching draws you right in to the New York mood, as if you were part of their notebook observing passersby and partaking in the city's favorite sport of people watching. For our collaboration, Rene illustrated a bustling summer in New York city scene, with tones, elements, and a mood that is very transportive.

Split York City is inspired by the song New York City by Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek, and how as a place the city has the power to split us and make us many parts of a whole.

Complementing the cover's design, the decorative endsheet inside contains a pattern of New York City locations, mementos, and other tidbits. Illustrated by Rene and screenprinted by me – with burgundy ink to match the cover – on rice paper.

Summer linen

Rene's design was printed onto a texture cotton/linen fabric blend, very apropos for mid-August summer wear in the city. There are many hidden gems in the design, including a store sign that reads "Enon's Stationery."
